Is there parking?

Yes, there is a small car park directly outside the building

Is there food?

There will be a tuck shop with snacks – chocolate bars and crisps etc – but other than that we won’t provide food. You are welcome to bring your own – there will be tables. Alternatively, the pub, The Three Kings is directly opposite and is offering a discount for hafla attendees. Also the Arts Centre Cafe is just down the road.

Is there alcohol?

We don’t provide alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own. Soft drinks, tea and coffee will be provided.

I’m only a beginner, can I dance a solo?

As long as we still have space on the set list, everyone would be very pleased and appreciative to see you dance your first solo. Please contact the organizers just to find out if there’s still space, but if there is then that would be awesome.

Please let us know if it is your first solo, so we can talk you through the process and make sure we have your music.

Can I bring my partner?

Of course you can – you’ll have to buy them a ticket, but otherwise friends and family are more than welcome.

Is this Shimmyfest with a different name?

This is definitely inspired by Shimmyfest, and we have also benefited from a lot of wise advice from Caroline, who will – inshallah – be the compere for us on the night. But we are a new management team and it remains to be seen whether we can deliver an event as enjoyable as Shimmyfest. You will have to be the judge of that.
